A new year is right around the corner. I cannot remember a time when I did not set goals for the New Year and review my accomplishments and disappointments for the previous year
Kim and I first met through IG, and she was one of the first ones that joined The Midlife Blogging Community on Facebook and is now an Admin for the group. We met in real life at a conference in Atlanta and it seemed like I had known her forever. She is a kind, encouraging, and thoughtful woman that I’m happy to call a friend.
The Sunshine Bloggers Award is given from bloggers to bloggers, who inspire creativity and positivity, by bringing sunshine to the blogging community. It is a way of encouraging and supporting one another, and also to get to know fellow bloggers.
Following are the questions that Kim asked:
Encouraging women to celebrate Midlife. I share what I do to take care of my mind, body, soul, and home….and there are lists or plans of actions. Sometimes, I just can’t help myself.:)
I’m trying to be intentional with living my life in my 2nd Act. My 2nd is about life after raising kids, after 50 years on this planet and picking up interests that I put on the back burner, or didn’t have time to explore in my 1st Act.
Ahhhh….my love/not love relationship with social media is real. I enjoy interacting with others; however, it can be a total time sucker and I don’t have a lot of extra time right now. As I’m typing this, I would say Instagram is my favorite platform, because of the great relationships I have developed with others. I’ve met quite a few online friends, in real life because of IG, particularly from the Instagram Over 50 Group started by Loretta
I spent the first 34 years of my life in Michigan.
My husband was recruited to a company in Florida, and our family has lived in Southeast Florida ever since.
Simply Your Society Blog–I met Heidi online through IG. She is an Administrator of the midlife blogging community on facebook. She has an amazing new website, which is an online resource for women of all ages with a special focus on midlife, mom life, and mental health.
Crazy Blonde Life — I have followed Suzanne for a couple of years and was so happy to meet in her in person a few months ago. She is the sweetest! She is a true inspiration to me and has a lifestyle blog that is targeted to women in midlife. Her posts are around fashion, food, travel, and living a healthy lifestyle.
Preppy Empty Nester –I discovered Katie’s blog while searching for empty nest blogs online. She has a great sense of humor and always leaves me with a chuckle and shares some great reviews. A lot of her writing revolves around her family.
Dear D’Arcy — I connected with D’Arcy after reading about her cyber attack. Don’t let that happen to you! She wrote about it on her blog. She has been very helpful whenever I have a question for her. Next Chapter Best Chapter …I connected with Susan through IG and then started reading her blog posts in the midlife blogging community. I am enjoying getting to know her! She blogs about midlife adventure as she is reinventing herself.
Melanie S. Pickett–I met Melanie last year through a group online called Forever Fierce, when we were both involved behind the scenes for the group. She is a domestic abuse survivor and her blog is full of encouragement and hope for others. She has the biggest heart and a fun sense of humor, as displayed on her stories.
