In my previous post, I asked a couple of questions about who you see when you look in your mirror.

Maybe you’re happy with you who you are, but realize there is room for improvement, there are goals that you have and need a little nudge to go after them.

Maybe you’re a little down on yourself because life isn’t turning out the way you thought it would.

If you’re not really liking what you see and ready to make a change, then do it.   Don’t spend your time and energy beating yourself up.  Make the choice to channel that energy into making a positive change.

If you’re not sure how to do it, I’m going to be sharing some suggestions in the upcoming weeks and I hope you join me.

As I’m getting older, I’m viewing life a little differently and want to make some changes to reflect that.

This is a short post, with some deep questions.  Grab a pen and journal, or computer, or just find some quiet time to think.

  1.  Identify and  understand  your core beliefs
  2.  What do you want to be remembered by?
  3.  Are you making the most of your life, or are you living a comfortable life?
  4.  Are you making choices about your life to please someone else?
  5. Is a lack of a plan and direction holding you back from making the most of your life?

I will leave you with a poem I heard years ago…..

Thank you for taking the time to read and please share with me some of your thoughts on planning and your goals for this next year.

    • It seems to me when we were younger, we spent most of our time doing. This time of life provides us an opportunity to contemplate more:) Thanks for stopping by, Amy! <3

    • It sure does, Loretta. Have always loved this poem, but often just get caught up in the day to day. Hoping to focus more on the dash!

  1. Great post Mel. Agree. Nice to have freedom at this age with nobody to report back to on my progress with the blog..just having fun and enjoying the process. Great way to start 2020 thinking about it!

  2. WOW! I have so much I want to do/change/add/delete that I really need to think and your questions are a great place to start!! Interested to see what’s coming up next on the blog! 😀

ps. I never thought I’d consider napping a treat but since you’ve mentioned it in your blog, It is something that I find enjoyable when time permits 😊

    • Hi Nancy! ahhhh those naps…yes, they can be good for you! Sometimes my mind just needs a little reset, especially when not getting a good nights rest. Hope you have a fun and healthy 2020!

  4. Thank you for such a great and thought-provoking post. I have realized that for quite a while now I have just simply Been existing… just making it through. Time to make a plan and get going! Thanks for the motivation

    • Thank you for popping by Margaret. Sometimes “just making it through” is all we can do, but having a plan gives me a focus.

  5. Lack of plan and direction ring a bell with me…I always seem to be waiting for something…for someone else who depends on me. I look forward to reading more. I’m a funeral director, so the poem is not lost on me, and one I’ve read many times. My dash seems to be a bit stuck balancing the legacy of love I wish to leave, and trusting my creativity to carry me.

    • Well that’s an interesting position, Trish! It can be a challenge to find time and stay focused on the direction we want to go. I think a balance of a plan with creativity is a good way to go.
